NY Anime Con

So New York apparently has an anime convention now.

I know it's a little far off, but is anyone going? I'm thinking about it, but these things are just no fun without people to go with. ^.^;;;

Odd, it's run by my old employer Reed Elsevier. They own Lexis-Nexis, the legal search firm. So the whole thing kind of says "overcommercialized" to me.

I think there used to be anime cons in NYC, but the facility costs are really high.

Seriously? I thought it was weird that ads for it were showing up on Google, but that's kinda disappointing. And of course, the fact that it's commercialized doesn't necessarily preclude it from being fun. ^^;;; But yeah... no fun. >.

Yeah, I'm just going to bide my time and wait to see what the panels look like. I have a few people I need to visit in NYC.

But, really, the one thing I remember about Reed Elsevier was their dumb, linguistically poor list of "core values" that they had framed on the wall in front of my desk.
