Well, I've been playing with Livejournal this evening because anything more complicated than randomly clicking things was too complicated for me. (I'm tired. Realistically, I should just have gone to bed. But I suck at life, and didn't want to, so here I am.) Anyways, happiness and joy, I finally have a mood theme! It was made by chochajin, and I love it! ^_^ (In case it wasn't obvious, I've got a Tenipuri obsession at the moment. Which is not to say that fic isn't getting written for other things - it is - but just to say that I really enjoy finding new media for Tenipuri at the moment.) Also, new layout. One of these days I'll get off my lazy ass and figure out how to make a layout all on my own, but for the moment I'm good with my new pre-designed livejournal one. Also got a PhotoBucket account. Dude. WTF was I thinking waiting this long to get one? XDD

Also, missed lithele today. I was eating Grace's and working on a cosplay earlier and just sorta sighed to myself. XD

Very excited about the cosplay, actually. I'm working on one of those blue jackets that everyone on crew has in Kaleido Star. Technically, since I'm going to cosplay Mia, I should be making a red one. Once I've finished the blue one, I probably will... but the blue fabric was just screaming my name. I might scour the earlier parts of the series to see if she ever wears one of the blue ones, since I think she does, but we'll see. Maybe I'll just be a bum and not match, or put it with an outfit that she doesn't usually wear the jacket with. Yeah. XD We'll see how that all goes. I still haven't even decided which of her costumes I'm doing yet - though I like the one with the yellow top.

Also, I updated my rec list to include a Hikago section and some new fics here and there in different fandoms. I really should look at the Nightwing section before ladylore makes faces at me, though I'd bet she's already found the rest of the good stuff without any help. I also need to do a Prince of Tennis section, but that should be saved for a day when not much else is happening. Well, maybe not. It'll be something like two authors in general and three specific fics by other authors. Which, given the Hikago section, is not bad. Damn, Hikago is small but mighty!

Also, wtf is up with all the fanfic authors giving Tenipuri characters leukemia? I've seen it done well once, and done poorly many times. Now, I'm all about character torture, so especially for the one really well written fic, this is a good thing... but there's a very disproportionately high content of leukemia!fic in Tenipuri. I've been very surprised that there isn't more injury!fic given how often the characters get injured in the series. Where's the AU where Ryoma's eye is permanently injured in that first match with Shinji? How about the generic but always wonderful so-and-so has the flu fic? Basically... why leukemia? Particularly intriguing because no one does anything with Guillain-Barre, Yukimura's disease, in spite of the fact that Yukimura gets more fandom love than a significant number of characters. (This, too, is a bit of a mystery to me - his character has never really been fleshed out, yet there's tons of fic for him that seems often to ignore what we *do* know about him. O_o) So yes. Fandom is strange.
