PoT Shots After Midnight
Aug. 9th, 2006 12:34 amSo, the more that I watch Prince of Tennis, the more I want to find my old racket and hit a few balls. Also, the more it reminds me of that saying about how it takes a village to raise a child.
Think about it: most of the particularly skilled characters at some point in the show set out to tutor Echizen. Nanjirou does it from the time Ryoma's a child. When he's at Seigaku, Ryuzaki-sensei tries for a while, but doesn't manage very well. Tezuka, on the other hand, finally manages to beat some sense into him. Very nearly literally, but that's beside the point. Aoi teaches Ryoma to actually enjoy the game, to get excited about, which at times it almost seems like he forgot how to do. Then you have Akutsu, who catches Ryoma when he's pretty downtrodden, for lack of a better word, and reminds him to fight. In strolls Atobe, who's a smug little *bleep* but who finally manages to draw out some of Echizen's potential and get him ready for the finals. Then you have Sanada, the guy who finally pushed him into reaching the Samurai's Eye, without which, I feel sure, he would not be able to proceed in the series.
If only there was someone from Fudomine on my list, every single team that Echizen played against would have had at least one major player do something to bring Ryoma forward. And, okay, so arguably Shinji sorta helps, I guess... but not as much as the others. ^.^;;;
So yeah. Takes a village, apparently. ^.^;;;;
And, okay, so I *just* titled this entry, and now I want to make the title into a really crappy but probably pretty funny fic. Stop me, someone, please!
