Yep, the "sudden" factor decreased the impact, but it's just so beautiful! ^.^;;;; The sudden thing is because, as often happens, the manga wasn't finished when the series started. The anime caught up to the manga, and the ending the anime has is the best approximation that provides a sort of ending for where the manga was at that point. (If you'll notice, the main conflict - that whole turning into animals, and the plot with Akira - is never resolved in the anime.) But yeah, it's awesome!!! ^_________^
