Code Geass
Oct. 16th, 2006 12:37 amSince this is the month for new anime, I've been checking out a bunch of them.
lithele and
ladylore had mentioned to me to be on the look out for Code Geass because they'd heard good things. It came out today, and after wanting to shoot myself trying to find a codec capable of supporting it, I finally managed to watch it.
I have never been more worried about foreign perception of the US then I am now, after watching the first episode. Several of the parallels drawn in the first episode hit extremely close to home ~ for instance, a terrorist attack on a building that looks startlingly similar to the WTC followed by declarations of war for purposes of "justice" ~ and some of it not so much ~ case in point, the back-stage effect for the political leaders. That being said, though... well damn. It's really interesting, though~!!!
