::smacks the AU bunnies::
Well, I haven't gotten around to babbling about this yet, but I think I'm gaining a new obsession for Black Cat. What can I say, I've got a thing for assassins who later change their minds about being assassins and become people who live to help others. They're just some of the best stories out there, in my opinion.
Anyways, I've been reading the manga because the anime doesn't come out anywhere near fast enough for me to be satisfied. (I would happily pay a fortune to receive the rest of the series right this minute - or act ala Heartnet and bag a couple of S-class criminals for it - or maybe both.) So, I was re-reading through the part with Saya's death and the chapters right before it, 115 and following or so. A couple of things popped into my mind, but foremost among them was Chronos's big mistake.
If Chronos hadn't put Train in detention for ten days, pretty much everything about the series would change.
Personally, I think giving him the down time to think about what he was doing was a mistake all round - more time to realize who he wanted to be, what he wanted, and how he could get it was not a good idea for Train at that point. Put that aside for a minute - if Train had been home from the start the night that Creed attacked Saya, she never would have died. While living, she may eventually have convinced Train to leave Chronos... but her death, so far as I can tell with incomplete manga readings (I want the rest of volumes 18 through 20, darnit!), was the catalyst that lead to his break from Chronos. This could happen for any number of reasons - whether he felt them responsible, directly or indirectly, what have you - but nevertheless, that's what happened. If Saya doesn't die, then Train stays with Chronos. This gives Chronos more time to do something with him, rather than forcing them to deal with what was essentially a loose canon - a guy who knew almost all about the organization, didn't give a shit about it, and had the ability to kill most anyone he wanted with impunity. It... makes things very interesting.
The bunny isn't fully formed yet, I can feel it nibbling.
...which is bad, because I haven't even *started* my Nano yet. I don't think I will, either. This was the last weekend when I could've gotten work done on it, but I feel less than fantastic still, so I don't think I'm going to get anything done at all. It's sad, but true. I'm just hoping my voice'll be back to full force for the concert tomorrow although at this point I'm not holding out too much hope. I can sing, and probably fairly decently, but I haven't got the stamina right now for two hours of rehearsal and two concerts - even if one *is* a mini concert rather than a full on concert. It pisses me off, because I *like* my solo darnit!!! It's comforting in a sad, demented sort of way that the other soloist is sick, too. Two new voice singing it could be good, though. ::shrugs:: I just hope it doesn't come to that, you know? XD Meh...
Anyways, I think I'm going to attempt to do some homework so that if I *do* go tomorrow I won't wind up wanting to kill myself that night from lack of finished homework (...like I did on Tuesday night, when the flu got worse by a factor of infinity). Yay, work!
... I can't believe I just said that. XD
